There must be something magic in the air; how else can you explain all the talented people who have called Burlington home?

Jim Carrey, star of The Mask and Dumb and Dumber, and Ryan Gosling, star of The Notebook and Lars and the Real Girl, both lived in Burlington in their younger days. Singer-songwriter Sarah Harmer was born in Burlington, as were members of the band Finger Eleven. Artist Kelley Richardson, who specializes in photography and video installations, and children’s writer Sylvia McNicoll have also lived in Burlington.

Perhaps it was one of the city’s many music festivals or theatre groups that inspired these artists to pursue their craft. You never know where you’ll find the next big things; they could be anywhere.
